HELPLINE
The Problem Gambling Helpline provides support and referral assistance, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to problem gamblers, family members and others who have been adversely affected by problem gambling.

Casino Self-Exclusion

“Ongoing Evaluation of a Self-Exclusion Program” (2007)
Presented by Marvin A. Steinberg, Ph.D., Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling, at the 22nd National Conference on Problem Gambling, Long Beach, California, June 28, 2008.  The study encompasses the period of Jan. 1, 2000 through Jan 1, 2008.  During this period of time 1782 patrons self-excluded and 411 (23%) voluntarily filled out the survey. The casino Security Department administers the S-E program. Patrons were asked at the time of self-exclusion to fill out a survey. Surveys were placed in stamped, addressed envelopes, sealed by the patrons and mailed to the CCPG.

Presented by Marvin A. Steinberg, Ph.D., Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling, and William Velardo, Mohegan Sun at the 12th International Conference on Gambling & Risk-Taking, Vancouver, British Columbia, May 26-May 30, 2003.  The study encompasses the period of January 1, 2000 through May 21, 2003.  During this period of time 479 patrons self-excluded and 235 (49%) voluntarily filled out the survey. The casino Security Department administers the S-E program. Patrons were asked at the time of self-exclusion to fill out a survey. Surveys were placed in stamped, addressed envelopes, sealed by the patrons and mailed to the CCPG.
